Global Schools Partnerships

St. Kizito S.S Bugolobi has been in the Global Schools Partnership (GSP) Projects since 2004. We have been in partnership with Deptford Green School, London from 2004 to date and in 2012, our third partner; Rainbow College Lagos, Nigeria joined us in a tripartite British Council Connecting Classrooms Education Project.

Objectives of the Education Projects

  • Enhancing international cooperation through promoting a sense of global community.
  • Develop global skills, knowledge and values for development.
  • Examine approaches to learning from different cultural perspectives.
  • Promote global citizenship among young people.
  • Develop a heightened awareness of global interdependence and universality.

Education Projects Since 2004

  • DFID/British Council Global Schools Partnership (GSP) 2005-2009
  • Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council 2010-2012
  • Derbyshire Healthy School Lifestyle Project 2008 to 2010
  • British Council International Climate Champions Project 2011
  • British Council Connecting Classrooms Projects 2012 to date.

 Project Activities.

  • Exchange visits of teachers and students between Uganda and the UK
  • Tours and field visits to areas where fauna and flora are conserved like game parks, forests, zoos, large water bodies to promote conservation and appreciate biodiversity.
  • Teacher professional development Programmes.
  • Curriculum projects in various subject areas
  • Team teaching and joint planning
  • Cross cultural dialogues
  • Writers’ workshops and joint poetry publications.
  • Joint talent shows and talent exploration
  • Debates on global issues
  • Partnerships with less privileged communities like orphanages, Reachout Mbuya HIV/AIDS centre.
  • Science fairs and exhibitions
  • Conservation and tree planting drives
  • Community links (Local and international)

Global Awards

  • DFID model Global Schools Partnerships project 2008 where we featured in the GSP promotional DVD.
  • The Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council (CYEC) Award in recognition for Cultural exchange, Global Understanding and Commonwealth values through our education project.
  • Two British Council International School Awards (2010-2015) for promoting a Global Dimension in the curriculum.
