Message from the parish priest

Written by

Education of the young person is a great responsibility that must be handled with care, love and deep respect for the human person. Education is a human right and a great value in any given society. When the Catholic Missionaries arrived in Uganda in 1879, they took education to be part and parcel of the work of evangelization. Wherever the Church was established, also a Church school was started.  That is how St. Kizito Secondary School came into being.

Head teacher’s Message

Written by

Sapere Aude. Dare to be wise. That’s the exhortation St. Kizito Secondary School, Bugolobi, gives us in its motto. A seemingly simple exhortation. But the more we reflect on it, the more we realise that these two words – daring and wisdom – cannot and should not be taken lightly. Perhaps the best way of discovering the meaning and power of these words is to look at the life and work of the patron saint of the school, St. Kizito. At a young age – he was fourteen years old when he was martyred – Kizito refused the fleshpots of Kabaka Mwanga's palace and chose to follow the glorious light of our Lord Jesus Christ, at whatever cost. In other words, he dared to be wise in the sense that he chose that which does not spoil (eternal happiness) over that which spoils (worldly happiness and pursuits). Young though he was, he was wise enough to see that following the heavenly King is all that mattered. And he was willing to seal his choice with his blood.

Discipline is the key to success

Written by

What is discipline? Whe you are a youth in upper class, you tend to feel on top of the world. You have the youth masculinity and forget that you have a life to live. You are highly influenced by peer pressure as if you came to school with those friends of yours.

The choice is yours: will you succeed with your friends or alone?

Discipline is your ability to focus on key issues at school and ignore those activities which do not add value to your future success. Attending classes regularly and reading books, being polite to your teachers and requesting for their help, asking for permission to get out of the school gate, etc are some of the indicators of a disciplined child.

The worst thing which can happen to you is failing exams.

Next time someone whats you to fight, just run away.
