Department of Literature in English and General Paper


Literature in English is one of the oldest subjects to be introduced to the Uganda school Curriculum. It was introduced as soon as high school was introduced in the school system in 1959.

French Department

Other than English, French is the other international language taught at St. Kizito. French is in much demand especially in the international job market. The subject is compulsory from S.1 to S.2, while it is optional in S.3 and S.4.

No argument is needed to support the claim that English is the most widely used language on the face of the earth.  For the past several decades, English has grown into the primary language for international communication.

Home Economics/ Science Department

Home economics/ science is an applied multi-disciplinary science that involves passing on knowledge, skills and attitude enables the individual to improve the quality of their life, their family and that of the community.

Chemistry Department

The department of chemistry has a well-stocked laboratory with modern facility for both ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level experiments. Regular practical exercise is among the privileges that students benefit.

Geography Department

Geography is a compulsory subject offered by all students at ‘O’ level and also taught at ‘A’ level. At ‘O’ level, Geography is divided into two papers; Geography of East Africa, Rhinelands and North America.

History Department

History studies the yesterday of mankind. At St. Kizito S.S Bugolobi, the subject is one of the core and compulsory subjects in ‘O’ level. And at ‘A’ level, it is an elective subject and we focus on two papers; European History and African Nationalism.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education is basically our society’s efforts to teach its current and emerging citizens valuable knowledge and skills around computing and communications devices, software that operates them, applications that run on them and systems that are built with them. ICT is taught at both ordinary level (UCE) and advanced level (UACE) at St. Kizito S.S Bugolobi.
