Candidates called upon to be vigilant during the last term

After having a two week’s holiday break, the candidates returned yesterday for their last (3rd) term which is also the term for UNEB examinations. The candidates were blessed with the presence of the teachers who were there to give them words of wisdom during the final term which Mr. Ssemyalo Rogers called the last lap. As the candidates start exams in October and November, S.4 and S.6 respectively, the demand for seriousness is what all the teachers called for.

The morning started on a good note as the head teacher, Sr.Boni graced the assembly. Sr. Boni encouraged the candidates to seize the opportunity to succeed and put on an armour of seriousness from the word go. Likewise, Mr. Obua Gasper, the deputy head teacher encouraged the candidates to be prepared at all times to avoid disturbances as they prepare for exams. Mr. Onyait Lambert the director of studies also urged the candidates not to fear and be strong. “You are bigger than your fears”, he encouraged the learners.

In the same breath, Mr. Komakech Richard urged the leaners to make the right choices. He encouraged them to make the right choice to live like a queen or a king or make the wrong choice and live like a slave for the rest of their lives. This he mentioned that it is dependent on the choices one makes. Mr. Ssewankambo Tom Mary as well encouraged leaners not to give up and pray continuously for wisdom. Additionally, Mr. Opolot Joseph encouraged the learners to have all the requirements needed for the exams earlier enough; starting with the identity cards.

Form the ladies side, Mrs.Winnie Ogwok called upon the learners not to chase non-issues by avoiding boy-girl relationships and being disciplined. In agreement, Mr.s Mitana Georgia encouraged the learners to be organized, focused and determined in all they do. As a wrap up, Mrs. Okuni Lydia encouraged the students to be present in school at all times and consult the teachers.

As the race has just began, the lap seems long. However, for these candidates, the final whistle is just seconds away. As the students were encouraged to make the right choices, putting in a lot by being positive, having a sense of purpose, being time conscious and partnering with the teachers, the beginning is applauded as the journey to success of the leaners has started at a good pace. The sky is not the limit any more but the ladder to success.
